Nourish Your Roots (NYR) is a program developed by Nourish Nova Scotia. NYR helps schools sustain their own healthy food programs like breakfast, food literacy in the classroom and food gardens by selling locally grown produce as a school fundraiser. It provides a ready-made market for participating Nova Scotia farmers and connects children and families to the healthy, local, and sustainable food choices available from Nova Scotia farmers.
Teacher / Staff Appreciation Week (TSAW) takes place from February 9th to 15th and was initiated by the Canadian Home and School Federation in 1988.
The purpose of this week is to encourage parents and the wider community to recognize the personal and professional contributions that our teachers and school staff make to children and their education.
Every school has dedicated staff members. TSAW lets them know they are appreciated and that parents want to work with them on the same team!
